Ladies and gentlemen, I want to go shopping. To be honest, I almost always feel itchy, but I don’t necessarily always allow myself to scratch. That said, this time around, I’m falling for a storm – and I’m using all of the hottest bag trends of 2022 as a metaphorical back scratcher. They do the job!
OK, let’s drop the whole itch metaphor and get down to business. I really don’t need a new handbag right now, but I’m looking to spice up my wardrobe and can’t afford a brand new one. When you’re in a similar situation, let the accessories be your savior. A few new pieces can transform your current staples when styled correctly!
So what are the top 2022 bag trends to keep in mind? Lately, it was flexible silhouettes, but the tide is turning and the structure is there. Box bags and classic, more rigid shapes are certainly in the mix, but often made in softer leathers which still allow a bit of giving. Let’s take it slow, don’t we?
Of course all of your favorite brands have slime-worthy bags on the market right now, from STAUD and Coach to celebrity favorites like JW Pei (EmRata is obsessed) and even sleeper hits like Charles & Keith (my new go -to). Corperni and Brandon Blackwood are producing new It Bag silhouettes per second, and of course, I’ll never say no to cute New York-based brands like Freja New York.

Last but never the least, a bag that I will certainly buy impulsively on my next unnecessary run at Zara. I can attest that they’ve nailed some handbags this season, and this antique gold chain and bright blue faux leather combo is one of their best.
